Wikipedia defines communication as the process of
exchanging information.
To begin exchanging your
information with the world using the
Internet
you need an
internet address, and you need a
server at that address to respond to requests from the
Internet for your information. Your information must
be place onto your server in a form that is suitable for
it's intended purpose.
Computers communicate on the
Internet using addresses constructed of numbers that are
meaningless to most human readers. To convert
addresses into meaningful words the
Domain Naming System was created. When you locate
a suitable and available domain name, and purchase it from
our registrar, it is registered on our DNS server.
Within about 24 hours all of the other DNS servers in the
world will know how to locate the server at your new domain
name.
In addition to your hosting
account you will need a domain name, which must be hosted on
our name servers. Please see our
Domain Registration pages for
more information.
Domain names are very
important in establishing 'relevance' to search engines,
please see our support and
design plans if you wish
assistance. |
